Saturday
We almost didn't leave the airport. Mexicana Air wouldn't take a copy of Connor's birth certificate as a form of ID. Fortunately, we were able to notarize it nearby and that was an ordeal in itself.
The flight was four hours long. Connor cried a couple of times, but we calmed him down by feeding him - twice. Ground rules don't apply in the air.
Once we landed in Cancun, it was a 30 minute ride to Iberostar-Quetzal, our resort along the Maya Riviera.
Sunday
Our first day out was great. We had a prime spot by the huge pool. The bar wasn't far and ojo rojo was the drink of choice. We started the day with a wind surfing contest - without the sail and in the pool. Of the 15 competitors, the winner was Dutch fellow who swam with one of his kids on his back.
The beach was about 20 steps from the pool. The resort was great because the water sports were inclusive. I went kayaking, rested for a little while, and took a nap in the middle of the ocean.
MondayWe actually made it to breakfast today. The food was great and my favorite, bacon, was served at just about every meal. Lunch was themed and varied from day to day. We wanted to go kayaking again today, but because of the high winds, all watersports were cancelled. We played a little volleyball, but spent most of the time by the pool working on our tans.
We had dinner at a Benihana style restaurant.
